After the appointment of Johan Van Geeteruyenas Chief Investment Officer (CIO) Fundamental Equity, announced at the beginning of Q3, DPAM is happy to share the further evolution of this team. The fundamental equity franchise is one of DPAM’s core areas of expertise and has been systematically growing over the years. As part of the ambition to continue to invest in the development of this expertise, Ignace De Coene has (re)joined DPAM as Equity Fund Manager. He will co-manage the US Dividend and Agri-food thematic equities strategies together with Jonathan Graas.
Ignace De Coene is a senior investment professional with over 25 years of experience. He started his professional career in 1996 as Fund Manager and Sector Analyst. He worked for Fortis Group as Investor Relations Manager until 2007 when he joined DPAM (at that time: Petercam). He was Head of Buy-side Analysts and, afterwards, became Fund Manager of the Agrivalue, World & EU Dividend strategies at the moment of inception. After a brief period as Head of Equity funds at Quintet/Puilaetco, now he joins DPAM again to co-manage strategies he knows already very well from the past.
As part of this evolution,Jonathan Graas, senior Equity Fund Manager, expands his scopeas co-manager of the sustainable and thematic strategies, together with Tom Demaecker and Dries Dury, senior Equity Fund Managers. The team approach implemented since the inception of the franchise remains in place, along with the proprietary ESG screening using scorecards combined with a value-chain approach for security selection. DPAM’s conviction-based approach will further contribute to the generation of added value for investors.
“Ignace De Coene coming back to DPAM will be of great added value for the franchise. With this highly experienced team we ensure the continuity of the expertise thanks to the unique combination of a consistent investment process powered by a robust conviction based research team.”Johan Van Geeteruyen, CIO Fundamental Equity
