Ariane and Benjamin de Rothschild, the Edmond de Rothschild Foundations and the Edmond de Rothschild Group are mobilizing in many ways to support the fight against the COVID-19 epidemic. Transformation of the Adolphe de Rothschild Foundation Hospital* in Paris to accommodate patients suffering from COVID-19, donation from the Edmond de Rothschild Foundation in Israel to benefit some twenty hospitals, donations from the Group in Switzerland, Luxembourg and France: all the employees in our ecosystem show their support for the medical teams and demonstrate a strong commitment to ensure business continuity in this unprecedented period.
The Edmond de Rothschild Foundations are the first to mobilise in the fight against COVID-19. In Paris, the Adolphede Rothschild Foundation Hospital was transformed in 48 hours into a veritable war hospital in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. All teams are reorganized and mobilized to treat patients with COVID-19 who urgently require critical care. Now placed on the 2nd line by the Agence Régionale de Santé(Regional Health Agency), the hospital is requisitioned to take care of patients referred by 1st line hospitals (mainly the major hospitals of the Assistance Publique – Hôpitaux de Paris) to relieve their beds, both for people suffering from COVID-19 and other neuroscience pathologies such as strokes or meningeal hemorrhages.
The Banking Group is also active and supports the Adolphe de Rothschild Foundation Hospital in Paris, as well as the University Hospitals and the Hôpital de la Tour in Geneva and the Schuman Hospitals and the Centre Hospitalier de Luxembourg. It has set up a financial support scheme by providing more than CHF 1.5 million to these establishments to help them purchase equipment, assist medical teams and provide local services.
The Group also donated its stock of masks to the Adolphe de Rothschild Foundation Hospital and the hospital in Metz.
