Cyrille Carrière, manager of the Morningstar 5-star Groupama Avenir Euro/Europe fund, has announced his departure from Groupama AM to create his own independent project. The RankiaPro editorial team learned of the news after investors were notified last Friday, and today, the change in management of the Groupama Avenir Euro/Europe fund was announced. The project will be ready for launch in the coming weeks and will be based on the investment philosophy demonstrated by Cyrille during his long tenure at the helm of Groupama’s highly successful Avenir Euro/Europe fund.
As fund manager at Groupama AM, he managed over 4 billion euros across multiple funds, and has a reputation as one of the most successful fund managers in the European and Latin American market.
During his 12 years of management at Groupama AM, he has managed to rank the fund as the most profitable at 3, 5 and 10 years in its category, according to data from Morningstar. This has led to many awards and recognition, such as the Refinitiv Lipper Fund Awards, which he has been the recipient of since 2015.
Cyrille began his career in the financial sector as an analyst at Rothschild and later became Vice President of Barclays Asset Management, where he managed a European Small-Mid Caps fund.
In 2012 he joined Groupama AM as the entity’s lead manager, being co-head of Equities and Convertibles. During these years, he has been the portfolio manager of the Groupama Avenir Euro and G Fund Avenir Europe funds, both awarded with 5 Morningstar stars.
Cyrille studied at the École Supérieure de Commerce in Paris, the Panthéon-Sorbonne University in Paris, where he obtained an economics degree, and the Louis Pasteur University in Strasbourg.
Cyril de Vanssay, Cyrille’s colleague and Small and Mid-cap fund manager at Groupama AM, will also leave the entity to join the new independent manager.
