Aegon AM has announced the appointment of Andrea Lorente from GAM Investments as its new senior director, investment specialist. Andrea will report to Mark Johnson, Aegon AM’s managing director of strategic partnerships.

Lorente’s hire supports Aegon AM’s desire to grow assets in the US Offshore and Latin America markets. Aegon AM has expanded into these markets through third-party fund distributor partnerships such as Larrain Vial for US Offshore, Uruguay, Argentina and Mongeral Investimentos in Brazil. Lorente will partner with the distributors supporting Aegon AM’s UCIT funds.
Aegon AM is an international business serving clients in Europe, Americas and Asia with $466 billion in assets under management globally.
Lorente has more than 23 years in the financial services industry, primarily based in New York City. She joins Aegon AM from GAM Investments, where she was the regional head of US Offshore covering institutions, financial intermediaries and private investors.
Before GAM, Lorente was a portfolio strategist at UBS Private Bank/UBS Financial Services where she provided multi-asset class portfolio strategy advice to institutional and private clients across Latin America, Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Previous roles have included several client relationship and portfolio management roles including BNP Paribas USA as associate director of international corporate FX and derivate sales. Previously, she held two positions with JP Morgan Chase Private Bank as an analyst and associate portfolio manager. Andrea began her professional career as a global operations security analyst for Deutsche Bank as global operations securities analyst in New York City.
‘Andrea has successful experience in developing and maintaining business relationships across the globe, which will play a vital role in growing our efforts in US Offshore and Latin America.’
